New whale website launched by NPWS

[1 June, 2010] The official start of the whale watching season was marked by the arrival of the first humpbacks in Sydney today - a pod of 2.5-metre-long inflatable whales under the care of the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. Local National Parks staff in wetsuits escorted the whales on the Sydney leg of their migration north.

The sighting in Sydney today coincides with the launch of NSW National Parks' new website Wild About Whales - a one-stop-shop for all things whales, featuring the latest sightings, tours, events and activities taking place in and around national parks and marine parks, conservation initiatives, whale facts, stories, news and photos.
